How to track diaper changes
A diaper log is the quickest record to keep and the one caregivers most often need to share. Keep it simple enough that anyone on the team will actually use it.
What to record
- Time of the change.
- Wet, dirty or both.
- A short note for anything you want to mention to a healthcare professional, such as a change in what you see.
Why it helps shared care
When two or three people care for a baby, “did anyone change them since the feed?” is a common question. A shared log answers it without a message.
An example (invented data)
07:05 wet. 09:50 wet and dirty. 12:20 wet. 15:40 dirty. Four lines, a few seconds each.
Keeping the log useful
Record at the moment of the change if you can. Use notes sparingly, and take the log to appointments rather than relying on memory.
Doing it in Nurtali
- Log a change in a couple of taps and add a note if needed.
- See changes next to feeds and sleep in the same timeline.
- Share the child with a partner or caregiver.
