Newborn tracking checklist for new parents
You do not need to record everything. Use this list to choose what is worth tracking in your family, and drop anything that adds stress.
Daily basics to consider
- Feeds: nursing sessions, bottles and amounts, solids when you start them.
- Sleep: naps, night sleep and wake times.
- Diapers: time and type.
- Pumping, if you pump: time, duration and amount.
Notes worth keeping
- Questions to ask at the next appointment.
- Things you tried and how they went.
- Anything a caregiver needs to know today.
Set up for sharing
- Decide who else needs access: partner, grandparent, nanny.
- Agree what everyone logs so the record stays consistent.
- Choose one place to record, so nothing lives only in someone’s head.
Keep it sustainable
Start with feeds, sleep and diapers. Add other records only if you will use them. A short, consistent log beats a detailed one you abandon after a week.
Doing it in Nurtali
- Create a child profile and start with the daily basics.
- Invite your partner or caregiver.
- Turn on basic reminders if they help you.
- Export your records as CSV any time.
